The Oishi Park Line is a boat route that opened on 17 July 2026, using the existing Ensoleillé, to carry visitors across Lake Kawaguchi to Oishi Park — the postcard Mt Fuji viewpoint on the north shore — instead of squeezing onto the crowded lakeside sightseeing bus. It is running again: after a high-water suspension from 23 September 2026, the boat resumed on 1 October 2026 — but all sailings are cancelled on 13–15 October 2026 for pier works.
Service status, checked 8 October 2026: the Oishi Park Line is running again. Fujigoko Kisen suspended it from the 9:20 departure on 23 September 2026 because Lake Kawaguchi’s water level had risen and the Oishi pier had to be hauled up; its restart notice, which we read on 7 October 2026 and which has since been taken off the operator’s site, said the boat resumed on Thursday 1 October 2026. Cancelled all day, in both directions, from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October 2026: Fujigoko Kisen’s notice of 7 October 2026 says every Oishi Park Line sailing is cancelled on those three days for work to haul up the Oishi Park pier, while the Appare sightseeing boat is scheduled to run as normal. On those days, Fujikyu’s Red Line bus from Kawaguchiko Station serves Oishi Park. Check the operator’s news page before you go.
Oishi Park has one of the cleanest Mt Fuji views in the Fuji Five Lakes — a flower-lined promenade on the far shore of Lake Kawaguchi with the mountain rising straight across the water. It is also a bottleneck: many visitors arrive on the same lakeside Red Line bus, and in peak season that bus is packed (Fujikyu’s less frequent P-Line bus also goes there, and the park has a free car park). The new Oishi Park Line, a water shuttle launched on 17 July 2026, is Fujikyu Group’s answer — cross the lake directly instead of riding around its shore.

What is the Oishi Park Line?
It is a direct boat shuttle between Funatsu pier — the main jetty near Kawaguchiko Station, on the south shore — and Oishi Park on the north shore, using the existing “Ensoleillé” boat. Instead of the road route the buses take along the eastern and northern shores, it cuts straight across the water. Fujikyu Group has framed it explicitly as a way to ease the peak-season bus congestion to Oishi Park, which is one of the most photographed Fuji spots in the area. The lake’s regular sightseeing cruise, the “Appare,” keeps running its own scenic loop from Funatsu; the operator’s notice of 7 October 2026 says it is scheduled to run as normal on 13–15 October 2026, when every Oishi Park Line sailing is cancelled.
Why go to Oishi Park at all?
Make a calm half-day of the north shore
Because the view earns the trip. Oishi Park sits on the quieter north shore, where a low flower promenade runs right along the water with nothing between you and Mt Fuji. It is best known for its seasonal planting: lavender in early summer and the fiery red kochia (burning bush) in autumn, both set against the mountain. The Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center at the park has local food and a shop. It is the kind of place that looks staged in photos and is simply real in person — which is exactly why the bus to it gets so full.
How do I ride the Oishi Park ferry?
You board at Funatsu pier, a short walk or bus ride from Kawaguchiko Station, and cross to Oishi Park in about 15 minutes. The neat part is the tie-in with the hilltop viewpoint: there is a combined ropeway-and-shuttle set ticket (adult ¥2,500, child ¥1,250 on the booking page as of 8 October 2026) that pairs a boat round trip with a round trip on the Mt Fuji Panorama Ropeway on the south shore, so you can do the summit viewpoint and the north-shore park in one loop. The scenic swing at the summit is not included: it costs an extra ¥500 per person (height 110 cm or more, weight under 100 kg).
Please note: the line resumed on 1 October 2026 after a suspension from 23 September, and all sailings are cancelled on 13–15 October 2026 for pier works. Fujigoko Kisen’s price page lists a one-way fare of ¥1,000 for adults and ¥500 for elementary-school children (pre-schoolers ride free). From 1 September to 31 October the first and last boats are 9:45 and 16:15 from Funatsu, and 9:20 and 15:50 from Oishi; from 1 November the last boats are earlier (15:15 from Funatsu, 14:50 from Oishi). The set ticket is sold online only, through Fujikyu’s Fujiyama Connect, and is tied to a date you choose; it’s valid for two days from that date. On the Fujiyama Connect booking page on 8 October 2026 it was listed at ¥2,500 for adults and ¥1,250 for elementary-school children (the ropeway’s own price page lists ¥1,500 for children — ¥1,250 is the price the booking page showed). The ropeway raises its own round-trip fare to ¥1,200 (child ¥600) from 1 November 2026, so recheck the set price for November dates. Cancellation is free until the day before (100% on the day), and once you start using it there are no refunds. A set ticket dated 13 or 14 October 2026 covers no day on which the boat runs, so pick another date if you want the crossing — or, if you already hold one for those dates, cancel by the day before. Practical tips
Weather matters: lake boats can be cancelled in strong wind or bad weather, and the operator also stops this line for pier work (all day on 13–15 October 2026), so keep the Red Line bus as your backup and don’t build a tight schedule around a single crossing. Mornings tend to give the clearest Fuji and the calmest water.
- Pair it with the ropeway. The set ticket makes a natural half-day: ropeway viewpoint on the south side, boat across, flowers and Fuji at Oishi Park.
- Season sets the scene. Come in early summer for lavender or in autumn for the red kochia; both frame the mountain.
