Search flights to Japan
I don’t sell tickets: you book with the airline or travel agency, and I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you (how this site makes money).

Change the searchWhich airport? The short answer
The cheapest ticket isn’t always the cheapest trip: where you land decides how long and how much the journey to your first hotel takes. Start from the place you’re heading first.
Heading first to Tokyo
Look at Haneda (HND) and Narita (NRT)
Haneda is on Tokyo Bay, close to the city. Narita is in Chiba, roughly an hour from central Tokyo by express train, and it is where low-cost long-haul airlines such as ZIPAIR land, so compare both.
Narita or Haneda, compared
Heading first to Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko
Look at Haneda, if the fares are close
Each airport has only two direct buses a day to Kawaguchiko: from Haneda at 06:45 and 11:50 (2 h 50 min, ¥3,300), from Narita at 10:25 and 10:55 (3 h 40 min, ¥6,000). Timetables checked 4 October 2026.
Both airports to the lake, with a cost calculator
Heading first to Kyoto and Osaka only
Look at Kansai (KIX)
Landing in Tokyo adds a shinkansen ride of more than two hours before the trip begins.
From Kansai into Kyoto and Osaka
Heading first to Sapporo and Hokkaido
Look at New Chitose (CTS)
Or fly into Tokyo and continue by plane, shinkansen or ferry.
Tokyo to Hokkaido comparedLanding in the evening? Check the last train or bus to your hotel before you book. For Kawaguchiko, the last workable connection leaves Haneda Terminal 3 at 21:20: a limousine bus to Shinjuku, then the 22:25 bus from Busta Shinjuku, due at Kawaguchiko at 00:11, with no slack if the limousine runs late. If you can’t be at the Terminal 3 stop by 21:20, plan a night in Tokyo first.

How these examples are chosen
Each price is the lowest fare among the cached Aviasales search results this site retrieved for that route, limited to fares found on the days shown above. It is a sample, not a survey of every fare. Dates and trip lengths differ between examples, so compare the two airports with your own dates. These are past search results, not live prices: a fare may have changed or sold out.
Once you’ve booked: the ride from the airport, and data
Compare your first ride before you fly; some tickets still need collecting or exchanging at the airport. These are the usual options:
The Klook and KiwiTaxi links are affiliate links: if you book through them I may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. The Haneda card opens my route guide.

Before you book
- Check what the fare includes. Some low-cost fares leave out checked bags, seat selection or meals, so compare the total for the way you actually travel.
- Look at the arrival time, not just the price. A late-evening landing can mean the last train or bus to your hotel has already gone.
- The final price is set on the booking site. Fares change all the time, so check the price and the change and refund rules there before you pay.
- Your booking is with the airline or agency. Changes, refunds and support go through them, not through Hidden Japan Gems.
Questions
Does Hidden Japan Gems sell flights?
No. The search on this page is provided by Travelpayouts and compares fares from airlines and travel agencies. When you choose a ticket, you book and pay on that company’s site. If you buy, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Are the fare examples live prices?
No. They are examples from cached search results, limited to fares found in the last few days, with the date each one was found. The examples are refreshed once a day when the update succeeds, and the time of the last successful update is shown above them. For a current price, use the search or tap “Check these dates”.
Why is the price different on the booking site?
Airlines change fares constantly, and the booking site checks the price again when you select a ticket. Taxes, baggage and payment fees can also change the total, so always check the final amount before paying.
