Sanyo Shinkansen reaches Hakata (Fukuoka) from Osaka in 2h 30min. Kyushu Shinkansen runs Hakata→Kagoshima. Yakushima: hydrofoil/ferry from Kagoshima or fly. Okinawa: fly only.
